The Secret Life of the Free State Teenager: Lunch Edition
It’s finally time for a break from the long and exhausting school day:lunch. Lunch is the place to hang out with your friends and get out of a possibly boring and rough class. Not everyone is happy with the lunch options that the school provides so they use the half an hour lunch periods exploring their options outside of school.
Some students do not like to be rushed, so they settle for the nearby lunch options.
“I go to Burger King and Taco Bell because school lunch tastes horrible,” junior Zack Hill said, “and you have more options at those places.”
Not only do these places have more options, they leave you feeling full.
“I go to Taco Bell because tacos have a wonderful texture and satisfy my hunger,” senior Thomas Brown said.
Others prefer healthier options.
“I would go to Dillon’s because it’s a little healthier than McDonald’s, and it’s fresh,” freshman Ilya Schaeffer said.
A variety of students decide to stay behind to try whatever is being served in the cafeteria.
“I’m fine with the lunch options, even though some might seem to be poisonous, and I don’t like wasting time by going to other places,” junior Steven Stringer said.
This process is repeated daily, the scattered variety of students remain behind sampling the cafeterias creations, while most are out eating the endless fast food options available.
