Starting out at a new school is difficult enough, it’s even harder when it’s your first year at public school and your a foot taller than almost everyone else. Josh May moved to Lawrence from Derby, Kansas in the summer of 2009.
After being homeschooled since kindergarten, Josh and his parents decided to enroll in public school, however Josh says the transition has been easy. He is the oldest of eight kids, four of whom were recently adopted. Josh’s younger brother Jesse is a sophomore at Free State.
Josh plans on playing basketball at Free State and is optimistic about the upcoming season. Basketball has been a part of Josh’s life since he was five and hopes to pursue at career in athletics. So far Josh has enjoyed the diverse community at Free State. Josh also enjoys reading and eating Mexican food.
